Comic testing

I have tested my course mates comic and it was realy good and well made comic. The capture method he uses is photography. Almost the whole comic is black and white with bits of red in certain details of comic. The comic's title is "Pirate". The plot of comic has a twist and at the start of comic there is button which you have to press to start viewing comic.

Making digital comic

I decided to create a comic that involves zombies. For this comic I am going to use photography and then manipulate it with photoshop. This comic's idea got inspired by video game called Resident Evil. I developed my comic's plot by drawing lots of possible comic starts comic endings and plot twists on paper. And then I made story board on photoshop with my final comic idea, it isn't too original or smart but I tried to not to leave any plot holes. Then I took camera out of colleges store and got few of my roomates to be characters in comic. After finishing with taking photos it was time to create some special effects on photoshop. Here are some photos before photoshop manipulation and after:
I also planed to use some moving animation in my comic so I took 1 photo of doors and manipulated them and i ended up with 3 photos which turned out like this:

And then I used photo morphing program to create 1 moving image:
After finishing preparing my comic material I imported everything in to flash and used speech bubble making technique to make my comic characters speak. I also found some creepy music which I thought would really for this comic but unfortunately i lost fla file from memory stick.
All in all looking back on the work I have done I think I should have created more interesting plot and maybe used more blood effects or created more zombies to create scarier  atmosphere.

Digital and traditional production advantages and disatvantages

Some people prefer digital production some traditional one but everyone agrees that both production methods have its advantages and disadvantages.
I want to start with advantages of digital production. First of all digital media is easier to edit for example photoshop's layers makes it really easy to edit every detail of image even months after finishing image. Its easy to draw basic shapes like circles and squares with certain tools and you can work with extreme accuracy because of ability to zoom in on your work and see and edit really small details. Also you can store huge amounts of drawings, photos and other media on hard drive, memory stick or other digital medium. With the help of internet you can easily share ideas and work on something with people from all over the world while sitting in your room. Once you learn how to use programs like photoshop its really easy to use them and you can combine different types of media into one work including traditionaly made work which you can scan in or draw on computer using  graphic tablet. Using digital production you can create real interactice work, the best example of it is video games.
However there is also a down side to Digital  production. Firstly computer files can corrupt and hardware and software can be really expensive. Further more even tough present day computers can have more than 1 terabyte of memory they still have limited memory and limited memory can constrain production and sometimes digitally created work can look too perfect. Digital production is reliant on technology and cause health and safety issues.
And now about traditional production. The best part about traditional production is that to work with it you don't need any specialist knowledge, you also have great control and unique quality of your work. You can work anywhere and its so much easier to team work in physical sense.
